Hello and welcome to the Pike Road High School website. My name is Andrea D. Maness and I am honored to be the principal at this wonderful school. I am currently in my 20th year as an educator, and began my tenure as a Pike Road Patriot at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. I am originally from Troy, AL. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Comprehensive Mathematics Education from Troy State University in 2004, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership and Administration from Troy University Dothan in 2012, and an Education Specialist Degree from the University of West Alabama in 2020. I am currently pursuing an Educational Doctorate in Rural Education with a focus on Organizational Change from the University of West Alabama. I am married to Coach Allen Maness, physical education lead learner at Pike Road Elementary School and assistant football coach for Pike Road High School. We have 2 children; Emma (C5 at Pike Road Intermediate School) and Sam (C1 at Pike Road Elementary School). Our family lives right here in Pike Road and while we are not natives of the community, we are proud to call Pike Road our home.

At Pike Road High School, we are excited to graduate our 5th class of learners in 2024 and currently serve roughly 800 learners and 80 staff members who all aim to reach our district vision where our students are lifelong learners who use their knowledge, skills, and influence to make the world a better place. We pride ourselves in providing unique and diverse opportunities for our learners and staff members. From rigorous curriculum opportunities such as Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, to real world experiences through our five Career Technical Education programs; we strive to engage our learners in 21st century skills needed for both local and global success, beyond Pike Road High School.

As patriots, we have already established a strong tradition in providing exceptional extracurricular activities including athletics, fine arts, and student focused clubs and organizations which all aspire to support our beloved Pike Road community. We are excited to build upon these early successes and create new ones for learners as they engage in their personal experiences as Pike Road Patriots.

Coupled with the opportunities to excel in academics and participate in award winning extracurricular activities is an atmosphere of shared Patriot pride that results in a genuine and welcoming environment for those new and old to engulf themselves in our school culture. Our focus on engaging instruction, rigorous academic programs and preparatory efforts for adulthood and good citizenship offer our learners a comprehensive education in a small town setting where we say “Welcome home to Pike Road!”

I personally welcome you to our great school. A school where learners are not lost in the crowd, instead are known by name and individual interests and goals. A school where learners are constantly challenged to grow beyond their current status and reach for greater heights each day. A school where the education of the whole learner is embraced and staff members truly feel called to this mission field. A school constantly reaching for excellence. A school that is deeply “Rooted in Growth”.
