Principal's Bio
Cyndal Whiten began working in the field of public education in 2016. She started her career at Pike Road Elementary School where she taught second grade for three years and first grade for three years. She went on to be an instructional reading coach at Phalen Leadership Academy before returning back to Pike Road Schools as an Assistant Principal. She served as an assistant Principal for two years before transitioning into her current role as Principal for Pike Road Elementary.
During her time as Assistant Principal she was the administrator of kindergarten and first grade, school safety coordinator, 504 point person, social media coordinator, and much more.
Ms. Whiten strongly believes in creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environment for staff and students, where each learner is provided high quality instruction, never ending support, and the continuous encouragement necessary to succeed.
Ms. Whiten obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Alabama State University in Early Childhood Education, a master's degree from the University of West Alabama in Early Childhood Education, and a master's certification in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama. Being a lifelong learner is one of Cyndal's mottos, and obtaining her Doctorate in Instructional Leadership is a goal of hers in the near future.
